The 2027 Corvette Stingray has been caught on a public road, and the new 6.7L LS6 V8 sounds exactly like you’d hope it would. GM Authority has footage of the mid-engine C8 making a right turn on a residential street, waiting for traffic, then pulling away. The Stingray in the clip is wearing the new optional quad center-exit exhaust, tagged RPO WUB, which is actually the first time a center exhaust has been offered on the C8 Stingray. It was previously a Z06 exclusive. The new pipes put out a smooth Small Block rumble that rises through the RPMs with a deep, sonorous tone. Worth watching with the volume up.

The LS6 is a big step up from the LT2 it replaces. The new 6.7L naturally aspirated V8 makes 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque, with compression up to 13.0:1 and a 6,600-rpm redline. As we broke down in our earlier deep dive on the engine, GM claims it produces the highest torque of any naturally aspirated production V8 ever built. That includes the 7.0L LS7, the outgoing LT2 and even the heavy-duty 6.6L L8T truck engine.
One more thing to keep in mind when you watch the clip: the standard exhaust on every 2027 Stingray is now the dual-mode NPP performance system, which previously cost extra. What you’re hearing is the base car. It’s a good starting point.
