One of the first customer-delivered Corvette ZR1X models gets a rare test drive, showcasing its extreme performance and hybrid engineering on a runway and at a private motor club. Producing a staggering 1,250 horsepower, the ZR1X builds on the already potent ZR1 by adding a hybrid motor to its twin-turbo V8, creating one of the most powerful Corvettes ever built.

The car features extensive carbon fiber throughout, including the front lip, mirrors, roof, and a massive rear wing, along with carbon-ceramic brakes and high-performance tires. Visually and mechanically, it pushes far beyond what most people expect from a Corvette.

Driving on the runway highlights its brutal acceleration, razor-sharp braking, and quick-shifting dual-clutch transmission—an improvement over earlier Corvette gearboxes. Despite performance that rivals or exceeds many million-dollar hypercars, the ZR1X carries an estimated starting price around $200,000, making its performance-per-dollar almost unmatched.

This example is one of only a handful of customer cars currently delivered in the U.S., rather than a press vehicle. With groundbreaking performance and hybrid technology, the ZR1X represents a major leap for Corvette and could reshape expectations for what a high-performance car can deliver at its price point.
