The Overview
A photograph answers the question a spec sheet cannot: what did a 1961 look like in Honduras Maroon, what is the difference between a 1970 and a 1972 nose, what does a 2010 Grand Sport’s fender look like next to a base car’s. The galleries are organized to answer those: one per model year, by generation, with the factory photography, the period pictures, the show and auction cars and the details of each year, and a line on what changed that year beside the link.
The C6 ZR1 has its own galleries for 2009 through 2013; the Corvette of the Day series adds a car a day with its story; the wallpapers hub carries the high-resolution backgrounds by year and by color; the videos hub is the moving-picture version of this page; and the classic advertising images, the painted and photographed ads of the 1950s through the 1980s, are gathered on the ads page.
Each year’s gallery sits on its year page with the car’s history, production numbers, colors, specs and documents, so a picture can be checked against the facts, and the generation hubs carry the story of each era.
What’s in the Galleries
The galleries grew with the site, and the generations differ in what they hold.
C1 and C2, 1953–67
The early galleries are the period photographs and the restored cars: the Polo White 1953s, the 1956–57 cars with the side coves, the 1958’s chrome, the 1961–62 ducktails, and the Sting Rays in every color of the five years, split-windows above all. These are the galleries to use for colors and details when checking a car, with the year page’s color chart beside them.
C3, 1968–82
The largest galleries on the site, with up to a hundred images for a year: the chrome-bumper cars of 1968–72, the 1973 one-year front, the 1974–77 rubber-bumper cars, the 1978 fastback, the Pace Car and the Silver Anniversary, the 1980 nose and tail and the 1982 Collector Edition. Fifteen years of a shape that changed a little every year, which the photographs show better than words.
C4, 1984–96
The 1984 launch cars, the convertible from 1986, the 35th Anniversary of 1988, the ZR-1s from 1990, the 1991 restyle, the LT1 cars, the 40th Anniversary of 1993 and the Grand Sport and Collector Edition of 1996, in the colors of the era.
C5 and C6, 1997–2013
The LS era in detail: the 1997 coupe, the convertible and the hardtop, the Z06s, the 50th Anniversary and the Commemorative Edition for the C5; the 2005 launch, the Z06 from 2006, the ZR1 from 2009 (with its own galleries for every year), the Grand Sport, the 427 Convertible and the 60th Anniversary for the C6. C7 and C8, 2014–23

Corvette of the Day, the wallpapers and the ads
The Corvette of the Day series is a photograph and a story a day, from barn finds to auction stars, and the quickest way to see the whole lineup; the wallpapers hub carries the high-resolution images by year and by color; the ads page carries the painted and photographed advertising of every year, which is its own kind of gallery.

Can I use the pictures?
The galleries are for viewing. Factory press photographs are General Motors’; period and show photographs belong to their photographers; the wallpapers hub carries the images we offer for personal desktop and phone use.
Where are the ZR1 pictures?
The 2009–2013 ZR1 has its own gallery for each year, linked in the C6 table beside the standard gallery; the 2019 ZR1 and the 2025 ZR1 are on their year pages and in their in-depth guides.
Is there a gallery for 2024 and later Corvettes?
Not yet; the E-Ray, the 2025 ZR1, the 2026 ZR1X and the 2027 lineup are photographed on their year pages and in the in-depth guides, and galleries follow as we build them.
How do I check a car’s color or details against the pictures?
