The Ring Appearance Could Mean Good Things

The C8 Corvette reveal is so close now that we can actively feel ourselves getting giddy. Every day the official reveal draws nearer is another reason to get excited. Well, now there’s another reason to get pumped up for the official reveal. That reason is that the car was recently seen testing at the Nürburgring in Germany. Actually, several C8’s were according to Carscoops.

The publication reported that its spy photographers managed to spot several C8’s doing their thing at the legendary racetrack. As the publication notes, the cars are likely doing one last round of testing. However, it would not be out of the range of possibilities to assume that Chevy was going after a fast lap time—something to wow the attendees at the new car’s reveal.

This is honestly a smart move by Chevy. You get in some last rigorous testing, and you get an opportunity to slap down some lap times and see where the C8 Corvette lands. If it does well, the company could report those runs at the reveal. If the car doesn’t do so well, they can simply avoid letting those numbers out. Instead, the car company can come back at a later date with the C8 Z06 or ZORA versions, if and when Chevy decides to produce them.

Additionally, this showing at the Nürburgring showed off the cars with very little cladding. They were pretty much just camo wrapped, which left them more exposed than at many other points. You can see details of the front fascia that were usually obscured. Also, there’s a double bubble roof and good views of the air intakes and other elements.
