FOR SALE: 1967 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Restomod

A classic Sting Ray transformed into a high-powered street machine

The 1967 Chevrolet Corvette represents the final and arguably most desirable year of the second-generation C2, combining distinctive Sting Ray styling with the performance credentials that established the model as an American sports car icon. However, this particular convertible takes the traditional Corvette formula considerably further, replacing factory-style performance with a heavily modified 541ci Brodix V8 producing more than 700 horsepower.

Currently offered on Bring a Trailer, this yellow-over-black 1967 Corvette convertible has been owned by its current owner since 1985. The fiberglass body was stripped and refinished in Sunfire Yellow between 1995 and 1997, when the black convertible soft top and black leather interior were also refurbished. Exterior modifications include a Stinger-style hood with a black stripe, retractable headlights, chrome split bumperettes, and side-exit exhaust pipes with heat shields.

Inside, the cabin combines traditional Corvette instrumentation with modern conveniences, including Vintage Air climate control and an upgraded audio system featuring an Antique Automobile Radio stereo and McIntosh amplifier. The five-digit odometer displays approximately 17,000 miles, although total mileage is unknown.

The centerpiece of this build is its 541ci Brodix aluminum V8, installed in 2012. Featuring an aluminum block and cylinder heads, the engine uses a dual-quad intake manifold topped by two Edelbrock electronic fuel-injection units. Additional hardware includes an MSD electronic ignition system, tubular exhaust headers, a polished serpentine accessory drive, and an aluminum radiator with dual electric cooling fans.

According to a 2013 dynamometer test, the engine produced 713 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque, figures that dramatically exceed the output of the original C2 powerplants. Power is delivered through a Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission installed in 2006, sending torque to a Positraction limited-slip differential.

The mechanical upgrades extend beyond the powertrain. The Corvette features an independent front suspension, transverse rear leaf spring, Bilstein dampers, adjustable rear strut rods, and front and rear sway bars. Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes with custom six-piston front calipers provide stopping power, while power-assisted steering improves drivability.
