1) The New ZR1 Is So Hot Even Thieves Want In On the Action

CorvSport’s Hot Take: What’s going on at the Bowling Green Assembly Plant?!? These recent August thefts follow eight Corvettes that were stolen in March of this year.

Key Talking Points Directly From The Article:

  • “A pair of Chevrolet Corvette ZR1s were stolen straight from the Bowling Green, Kentucky factory on Friday, August 8 — marking the second time this year that examples of the C8 have been taken straight from their birthplace.”
  • “‘The Kentucky State Police, Bowling Green Police Department, and Warren County Sheriff’s Office were swift in their response and successfully located both vehicles,’ Bagshaw said to local news organization WBKO. ‘We are grateful for the support and partnership with all law enforcement involved.'”
  • “A statement from the BGPD states that the pair of thieves took off in different directions; an Arctic White Corvette ZR1 was located within the confines of Bowling Green after hitting spike strips laid down by officers with the Bowling Green Police Department, while a Sebring Orange ZR1 was located nearly three hours away in Martin County, Indiana.”

The Article From Road & Track

“Chevrolet’s new 1064-horsepower Corvette ZR1 is apparently such a hot commodity, criminals can’t even wait until it reaches dealerships to boost the supercar-slaying ‘Vette. A pair of Chevrolet Corvette ZR1s were stolen straight from the Bowling Green, Kentucky factory on Friday, August 8 — marking the second time this year that examples of the C8 have been taken straight from their birthplace.

Earlier this year, Road & Track reported on a set of Corvettes that were stolen and taken on a joyride before being located by the Bowling Green Police Department, and the story hasn’t changed much this time. A statement from the General Motors Bowling Green Assembly Corvette Plant spokesperson, Rachel Bagshaw, confirmed that two crown jewel Corvettes were stolen from the factory last Friday before being recovered by a multitude of local law enforcement agencies…” READ MORE AT Road & Track

2) Build It And They Will Buy It, No Matter The Price!

CorvSport’s Hot Take: We knew the 2025 ZR1 markups were coming, but, unlike the E-Ray, enthusiasts are actually paying big money for the honor of having one of the approximate 100 C8 ZR1s that were built for the 2025 model year. One exotic dealership from Staten Island, NY, which was able to acquire two ZR1s, is receiving a lot of criticism on social media for its markups. However, as you can see below, their second example sold in less than two weeks!

Key Talking Points Directly From The Article:

  • “The listing of the groundbreaking American supercar turned heads, but Status Auto Group wasn’t done there, and has now listed yet another 2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 for sale. This time, the example is finished in a Seawolf Gray Tricoat exterior, with an interior that features the Adrenaline Red Dipped configuration.”
  • “With Status Auto Group selling some of the most coveted luxury and exotic cars on the market, this example, and the other Corvette ZR1 for sale at the dealer, won’t be the only examples of the ZR1 to come through Status Auto Group’s doors.”

The Article From duPont REGISTRY

“The new Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is rewriting the rulebook of American performance, taking full advantage of the fact that the Corvette finally made good on its decades-long promise of a mid-mounted engine and delivering one of the most powerful American supercars yet, with an unfathomable 1,064 horsepower being squeezed out of a twin-turbocharged V8 engine. It’s one of the most desirable American performance machines currently on the market, and in July, Staten Island, New York-based dealer Status Auto Group listed one for sale…” READ MORE AT duPont REGISTRY

3) Are You Looking To Buy America’s Sports Car?

CorvSport’s Hot Take: The enthusiasts who were optimists (and realists) eventually knew that deals would be back for our beloved Corvette, and the market continues to stabilize. As always, GMAuthority is on top of all the current discounts and deals. Interestingly, while individual dealers are offering substantial discounts below MRSP, GM currently only has lease deals.

Key Talking Points Directly From The Article:

  • “No incentives are available from the Bow Tie brand on the C8 Z06, the C8 E-Ray, or C8 ZR1 variants of the mid-engine high-performance sports car.”
