FOR SALE: 1958 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible

A well-preserved, numbers-matching example

This 1958 Chevrolet Corvette convertible, offered through SBX Cars, is a well-preserved, numbers-matching example showing 44,567 documented miles. It is one of only 199 built in Tuxedo Black with silver coves and a red interior, according to NCRS records. The car retains much of its original, unrestored exterior, displaying authentic patina alongside its chrome accents, quad headlights, louvered hood, bumper-exit dual exhaust, and 15-inch steel wheels with wide whitewall tires.

Power comes from the original 283ci V8 with dual Carter four-barrel carburetors, factory-rated at 245 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque, paired with a three-speed manual transmission. The engine bay remains correct, including finned aluminum valve covers. The chassis follows the stock layout with independent front suspension, a solid rear axle with a transverse leaf spring, and 11.1-inch drum brakes.

The interior features its original red vinyl upholstery, dual-cockpit dashboard, adjustable bucket seats, lap belts, crank windows, Wonder Bar AM radio, dash-mounted rearview mirror, heater, clock, and full instrumentation with a 160-mph speedometer and 6,000-rpm tachometer. The trunk retains its period-correct mat and finish.

Originally delivered through North York Chevrolet in Ontario, the car later spent years on display before moving to Helsinki, where it remained for about a decade. It eventually returned to North America but has never been titled in the U.S. and still carries Finnish plates. Displayed at the 2023 Pigeon Forge Corvette Expo, it earned attention for its originality and comes with extensive documentation, including service records, manuals, NCRS materials, and a binder tracing its history back to its $5,795 purchase price.
