So Much Yes

These C8 mid-engine Corvette renderings are getting so, so good. The most recent one from MidEngine Corvette Forum comes from user Chazcron. We’ve showcased his work before, but this one is by far our favorite. The rendering appeared on the forum site and then spread from there like wildfire.

The car is a topless variant of the C8 mid-engine Corvette that Chazcron has previously so successfully rendered in videos and images. For this one, he kept most of the car the same but removed the roof. Chazcron also spent the time to photoshop the car into a real-world environment instead of placing it with a black or white background.

This lends the rendering a more realistic feel and honestly looks very legitimate. At first glance, it’s hard to tell that this isn’t the real deal. However, upon closer scrutiny, it becomes apparent it’s indeed just a rendering. With that said, this poses an interesting question about the upcoming mid-engine Corvette.

First off, how will Chevy handle a convertible model? It will likely be something like this. A C8 with a removable roof section that you can store somewhere. However, a power-operated roof would put the car on par with other supercars out there. The last thing you want to do is have to manually remove the roof and place in a storage area of some kind. Also, this raises the question of storage in the C8. Where would the top go when lowered or removed?

We don’t have the answers to these questions and we hope Chevy will provide all the details soon. The wait for the C8 mid-engine Corvette is beginning to feel long. That said, if Chazcron’s renderings are close to the real deal, the car will be worth the wait.
