Listed for sale on Bring a Trailer, this 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray IMSA GTLM C8.R Championship Edition Convertible is one of 1,000 examples built to commemorate Corvette Racing’s 2020 IMSA GTLM Championship. The limited-production model celebrates the debut season of the mid-engine C8.R race car and combines distinctive motorsport-inspired styling with extensive performance modifications.
Finished in Accelerate Yellow Metallic with dual full-length Sterling Silver racing stripes, the convertible is equipped with a power-retractable hardtop, high-wing rear spoiler, LED headlights, power-folding mirrors, front and rear cameras, rear Park Assist sensors, and quad exhaust outlets. Black 19- and 20-inch MRR Forged F23 wheels are wrapped in staggered Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, while a lowered suspension, Magnetic Selective Ride Control, and the Z51 Performance Package enhance its chassis capabilities. A front suspension lift system adds practicality when negotiating steep driveways and other obstacles. Yellow Z51-branded Brembo calipers provide braking force at all four corners.
The cabin combines Sky Cool Gray and Jet Black leather GT2 bucket seats with yellow seatbelts and carbon-fiber interior trim. The heated and ventilated power-adjustable seats are joined by an 8-inch touchscreen with navigation, a 14-speaker Bose audio system, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. A heated microfiber-wrapped steering wheel incorporates paddle shifters and frames a 12-inch configurable digital instrument cluster, while a head-up display projects key driving information onto the windshield.
Under the rear deck, the naturally aspirated 6.2-liter LT2 V8 has been substantially modified under previous ownership. A ProCharger supercharger kit is paired with a polished low-profile intake manifold and revised ECU calibration, while a Paragon Performance Touring exhaust system with carbon-fiber finishers alters the car’s sound and breathing characteristics. Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Tremec eight-speed dual-clutch transaxle and electronically controlled limited-slip differential.
As a limited-edition tribute to Corvette Racing’s championship-winning transition into the mid-engine era, this C8.R Edition combines factory commemorative details with aftermarket performance upgrades to create a distinctly personalized C8 Convertible.
