The Story of Polo White
Every 1953 Corvette was Polo White with a red interior and a black top: 300 cars, hand-built in Flint. It was the only color until 1954 added Pennant Blue, Sportsman Red and Black, and it stayed the majority color through 1955 (about 325 of 700) and on the new 1956 body, before Snowcrest White replaced it for 1958.
Polo White is slightly creamier than the later whites; a 1953 restored in a modern bright white looks wrong beside an original. The 1957 count of 1,273 includes the first fuel-injected cars.
