The Overview
A wallpaper is the picture you look at every day, and the Corvette has been photographed well for seventy years, so the collection is large and the sorting matters. This hub sorts it three ways: by model year, so a 1966 owner can find a 1966; by generation, for the people who want the best of the C3 or the C8 without caring which year; and by color, because a black car and a yellow car make very different screens.
The year collections run from 1953 to 2023, one per model year, with the factory photography and the best enthusiast shots of each; the generation collections pick the strongest images of each era; the color collections cut across all of it. Every image is free for personal use, in desktop sizes (1920 and up, with many at 2560 and 4K) and portrait crops for phones where we have them.
The galleries hub is the full photo collection the wallpapers are drawn from, and the colors pages tell you what each year’s paint was actually called, for the people who want the wallpaper to match the car in the garage.
The Wallpapers, Three Ways
Three ways in, depending on what you know you want.
By model year
Seventy collections, one per year from 1953 to 2023, each in the generation tables below with a line on what that year’s car was. These are the collections for owners: the year of the car in the garage, in the color it came in, usually with the factory’s own photography of the year beside the enthusiast shots. The 1963, 1967, 1969, 1990, 2009, 2015, 2019 and 2023 collections are the ones to start with.
By generation
Eight collections that pick the strongest images from each era: the C1’s chrome and two-tones, the C2’s split-windows and big blocks, the C3’s shark in its chrome-bumper and rubber-bumper forms, the C4 and the ZR-1, the C5 and its Z06, the C6 ZR1, the C7 Stingray and Z06, and the mid-engine C8 from the Stingray to the ZR1X. These are the ones to start with if you don’t have a year in mind.
By color
Black, blue, red, white, yellow, silver and orange, each a collection across all eight generations, because the color decides the screen: a Torch Red C7 and a Rally Red 1967 sit together, an Admiral Blue C8 with a Nassau Blue Sting Ray. The colors pages list what each year’s paints were actually called, if you want the wallpaper to match a real car.
Sizes and use
Desktop images are 1920 pixels wide and up, with many at 2560 and 4K; where we have portrait crops for phones they are in the same collection. The images are for personal use as desktop and phone backgrounds; the factory photography is General Motors’ and the enthusiast photographs their photographers’, credited where known, and they are not for resale or reuse.
The galleries
The wallpapers are the best of a much larger collection: the galleries hub has a photo gallery for every model year with the factory, period, show and auction photography of each car, and the Corvette of the Day series adds a car a day. The videos hub is the moving version.

Every model year from 1953 to 2023 has a collection, and the color collections (black, blue, red, white, yellow, silver, orange) cut across all generations. The colors pages list what each year’s paints were called, if you are matching a real car.
