2006 Corvette Production Volumes

A total of 34,021 Corvettes rolled off the end of the assembly line for the 2006 production model year, the second year of the C6 generation Corvette. Production volumes remained solid in 2006 despite being down a little versus 2005 volumes. 2006 brought some interesting changes from 2005 with the most exciting development being the introduction of the 505 horsepower Z06.

Coupes still proved to be the most popular model ordered with 48.8 percent of total production and a total of 16,598 units made (down from 26,728 units in 2005). Convertibles made up 32.8% of the volume with 11,151 units produced in 2006. There were also 6,272 Z06 cars produced which made up about 18.4% of total production.

Below, we have broken out the 2006 Corvette production builds by RPO codes and options so you can see how popular or rare certain options were. The production volumes are broken out by domestic coupe and domestic convertible builds.

Colorwise, Black was the most popular option in 2006 (21.3% of cars made), with Victory Red (17.2%), Monterey Red (14.8%) and Machine Silver Metallic (14.6%) followed closely behind. Once again, most convertible buyers option for the Black convertible top, with convertible buyers selecting that option 65.6% of the time.
