The 1965 Chevrolet Corvette marked a significant technical progression for the second-generation C2, combining subtle styling revisions with important chassis and braking improvements. Offered for sale on Bring a Trailer, this coupe pairs the desirable Rochester Ramjet fuel-injected 327-cubic-inch L84 V8 with a four-speed manual transmission, while retaining the mechanical character that helped establish the Sting Ray as one of America’s defining performance cars.
For 1965, Chevrolet made four-wheel disc brakes standard across the Corvette range, with this example equipped with power assistance. The model also continued with the C2’s fully independent suspension, using upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link arrangement with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. Together, these systems provided a substantially more sophisticated chassis than earlier Corvettes.
Styling changes were deliberately evolutionary. The hood lost the recessed areas previously associated with nonfunctional louvers, producing a cleaner surface, while functional vents were incorporated into the front fenders to improve airflow through the engine compartment. The grille adopted blacked-out horizontal bars, and bright aluminum sill moldings added visual definition to the lower body.
At the heart of the car is the fuel-injected L84 V8, equipped with a high-lift camshaft and factory-rated at 375 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. The Rochester Ramjet injection system was removed and rebuilt in August 2026, adding an important recent mechanical service to this period-correct C2 configuration. Power reaches the rear wheels through the four-speed manual gearbox.
The Saddle leather interior features twin bucket seats, matching carpets and door panels, a center console, heater, analog clock, power windows, and lap belts. Ahead of the driver, the three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, tachometer, and auxiliary gauges monitoring fuel level, amperage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature.
This Corvette left the factory in Milano Maroon and has since been repainted in maroon. Its fiberglass body incorporates the characteristic flip-up headlamps, chrome bumpers, fender vents, driver-side mirror, retractable antenna, and dual exhaust outlets integrated into the rear valance. The car rides on 15-inch cast-aluminum wheels with knock-off hubs, fitted with 225/75 Goodyear VIVA 2 thin-whitewall tires.
