1) A Photo Gallery Story: Sharing the dream and building the family bond
Sharing the dream with those who mean the most to you and witnessing the family bond that developed through the simple process of taking possession of a new car is what inspired me to write this piece, aptly titled “A Family Affair: Our National Corvette Museum Is Helping Create Bonds Between Car & Family.” That’s really what makes this RPO R8C program so special. And that’s what makes the Corvette so special, when a piece of metal can transcend its physical properties and bring families together.

2) What do Corvette buyers receive when they check the RPO R8C box and ante up the $1,495?
Here are the notable highlights: visit the NCM’s website for the complete program details.
- New owners, along with up to three additional guests (13 and older), are welcomed to the National Corvette Museum with special signs commemorating the event.
- A personal, special VIP guided tour of the Museum is conducted by a staff member of the museum.
- As part of this tour, the new owner will have the thrilling experience of viewing their new Corvette on display in Corvette Boulevard.
- Next, a member of the Museum Delivery Team will provide a detailed vehicle orientation with the new owner(s), followed by a thorough delivery presentation of their new vehicle.
- A unique decal is placed on the inside of the drivers’ door jamb to signify the importance of this memorable occasion.
- Customers will also receive a personalized interior dash plaque, a personalized wall plaque, one-year family membership to the National Corvette Museum, and an individual photograph in front of the Museum.

“I was just introduced to an experience I did not realize existed, or maybe I did and had forgotten about it. As a Corvette enthusiast since the 90s, I really should’ve known about this. Just today, a buddy of mine (who I met on the Corvette Forum) texted me a few pictures from 2006. It was this exact day 17 years ago that his freshly detailed 2004 Le Mans Blue Commemorative Edition Coupe was proudly displayed at the National Corvette Museum.
I thought it was rather touching he would remember a day from nearly two decades ago, but when asked he mentioned something about the cloud and a special phone photo app, so there went the ‘memory like an elephant’ nostalgic angle. When my buddy Steve suggested I get a similar app for my phone, I told him I probably don’t want to know what I was doing that many years ago! As many of you may know, when ordering your new Corvette you can check off the RPO R8C box and take delivery at the museum, which includes many features, including a live stream for anybody around the country to watch and a guided tour of the museum. So what do you do if you buy one off the lot and want to have a similar experience? Well, the Museum has an answer for that, and it’s called the ‘NCM Experience’.
