1 – The C8 Corvette Finally Gets Its Third Pedal—But There’s A Catch!

When news broke from SEMA in 2025 that TREMEC had developed a manual transmission designed to bolt into the C8 Corvette, we knew the idea was theoretically possible. Now, it’s a reality. Nearly one year to the date, and thanks to one C8 tuner making waves out of Texas, we finally have our first video showing nearly 73,000 viewers what it’s like to row the gears with a third pedal in the glorious eighth-generation Corvette. Sure, this isn’t coming from the factory. As we reported in late November of that year, the internet lit up with hopes that GM would officially bring this revelation to production cars. But nope. Fortunately, C8 enthusiasts who want to shift their own gears—and have some extra coin in their pockets —still have hope.

It may not be factory, but, thanks to Peitz Performance, that’s still a third pedal and stick shift, baby!

GM Has Made Its Position Clear, But The Aftermarket Had Other Ideas

Earlier this year, Corvette chief engineer Tony Roma put an end to any lingering speculation about a factory-backed manual C8. Speaking to an audience at the 12 Hours of Sebring, Roma addressed the TREMEC transmission that had generated so much excitement following its SEMA appearance. His response wasn’t exactly what stick-shift enthusiasts wanted to hear. “Tremec showed something at SEMA last year that I wish they wouldn’t have shown,” Roma explained. “It’s not real. So when people say, ‘But there’s one that’s available,’ there isn’t.”
