Chevrolet’s celebration of America’s 250th anniversary arrives in the form of the 2026 Corvette Z06 Stars & Steel Edition, a highly exclusive model limited to just 250 examples. In his latest review, Joe Raiti examines how this commemorative package elevates the already formidable C8 Z06 with distinctive styling, premium appointments, and collector-focused exclusivity while retaining its world-class performance credentials.

Available in Arctic White or Raven Black, the Stars & Steel Edition builds upon the Z06’s aggressive widebody design with Carbon Flash Metallic aerodynamic components, including functional front canards, a prominent splitter, side sill extensions, and a rear diffuser. Patriotic graphics featuring stars, stripes, and 250th-anniversary branding are integrated across the hood, roof, flanks, and rear wing, creating a tasteful tribute rather than relying solely on decals. Forged Carbon Flash Metallic wheels, red Brembo brake calipers, magnetic ride suspension, and an electronic front-axle lift system further reinforce its performance-oriented character.

Power comes from Chevrolet’s hand-built 5.5-liter LT6 flat-plane-crank V8, producing 670 horsepower through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. The naturally aspirated engine revs to nearly 9,000 rpm, delivering a race-inspired soundtrack and razor-sharp throttle response. Performance remains uncompromised, with a 0–60 mph sprint in approximately 2.6 seconds, a quarter-mile time of around 10.2 seconds, and a top speed approaching 190 mph despite the additional aerodynamic hardware.

Inside, every Stars & Steel Edition is based on the fully equipped 3LZ trim. Exclusive blue leather upholstery, contrasting blue stitching, red seat belts, carbon-fiber trim, Alcantara accents, and a serialized plaque identifying each car’s production number distinguish the cabin from the standard Z06. Chevrolet also equips the model with its updated 2026 infotainment system, featuring a 12.3-inch touchscreen, Google integration, performance data recorder, wireless smartphone charging, heated and ventilated seats, and a configurable 14-inch digital instrument cluster.

Raiti concludes that while the Stars & Steel Edition commands a premium over the standard Z06, its blend of track-ready capability, bespoke styling, and limited production makes it one of the most desirable Corvette variants of the C8 era. For enthusiasts seeking exclusivity without sacrificing performance, it stands as a fitting tribute to both the Corvette legacy and America’s 250th anniversary.
