1965 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe

A C2 Corvette at Bonhams

Looking for an immaculate C2 Corvette for your collection? Look no further than this 1965 Corvette Sting Ray that’s going up for auction through Bonhams

This car was purchased new by Frank Hayashi of Wisconsin in December 1964 at Hult Chevrolet in Madison, Wisconsin. The car has the 327 cubic-inch V8 that produced 300 hp when new. This model also came with the sought-after four-speed manual gearbox and Positraction rear axle.

From the factory, it also got Chevrolet’s Comfort and Convenience Group of options and included an AM/FM radio and whitewall tire. All of this equipment remains in the car today.

The car remained in the car of Mr. Hayashi until 2011 when Bruce D Nelson of Hudson, New Hampshire bought it. A year prior, it had undergone a full restoration to the National Corvette Restorers Society standards. In 2014, the car was registered in the UK, and in 2016 it was purchased by the seller.

The car is being sold with three large binders which contain a full-detailed history of the car and photographic evidence of the restoration and service. The car also comes with the original sales invoice, the original title, instruction books, and the original Protect-o-Plate.

This car will go on auction at the Goodwood Speedweek and is currently up on Bonhams’ website (link in the first paragraph). The car is expected to go for somewhere between $64,000 and $90,000 USD.
