FOR SALE: 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Split-Window Coupe Conversion

Custom 1964 Corvette Split-Window restomod C2 styling with modern engineering

This 1964 Chevrolet Corvette Split-Window Coupe Conversion currently offered on Bring a Trailer combines the distinctive styling of Chevrolet’s second-generation Corvette with modern chassis engineering and contemporary V8 performance. Extensively modified over an eight-year build, this custom C2 replaces much of the original car’s mechanical architecture with upgraded suspension, braking, steering, and a fuel-injected LS376 V8.

Finished in black, the fiberglass body has been extensively reworked to incorporate a 1963-style split rear window, 1963-style front fenders, custom rear panels, and hand-laid fender flares at all four corners. Additional modifications include a front spoiler, dual center exhaust outlets, flush-mounted smoked glass, and the removal of the front bumper. Detroit Speed electric headlight motors and refinished exterior trim complete the revised appearance.

The Corvette rides on a Jameson tubular frame equipped with C6-generation suspension components and QA1 double-adjustable coilovers. Staggered 18-inch Budnik wheels wear 275/35 front and 335/30 rear BFGoodrich g-Force Rival tires. Power-assisted C6-spec disc brakes provide stopping power, while a C4 Corvette rack-and-pinion steering system modernizes steering response.

Power comes from a 6.2-liter GM LS376/480 crate V8 featuring a factory-installed Hot Cam and a rated output of 495 horsepower. An MSD Atomic LS electronic fuel-injection system manages fueling, while shorty chrome headers, a custom exhaust, and a DeWitt aluminum radiator with dual electric fans support the installation. The engine drives the rear wheels through a Tremec TKO five-speed manual transmission and Dana 44 differential. Custom axle shafts and a modified floor pan and transmission tunnel accommodate the drivetrain, while a replacement fuel tank incorporates an in-tank 255-liter-per-hour fuel pump.

The cabin features red leather-trimmed ProCar bucket seats, matching door panels and carpeting, and a Dakota Digital HDX instrument cluster. Vintage Air climate control, power windows, push-button ignition with RFID security, and a RetroSound AM/FM stereo bring modern convenience to the classic silhouette. The digital odometer displays 826 miles since the build’s completion, although total mileage is unknown.

Acquired by the current owner in 2015, the Corvette is offered with service records and a title in the owner’s name. The listing also includes a specification sheet and 45 pages of receipts documenting approximately $317,000 in work.
