In 2018, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway made the Chevrolet Corvette the official pace car for the 102nd running of the Indy 500. This marked the 15th occasion the Corvette had been selected as the official pace car, a tradition that began in 1978. For the 2018 event, Chevrolet created a special 2019 Corvette ZR1 specifically designed to fulfill this role.
This specific 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Coupe is a Pace Car Edition authorized by Indy 500 officials. It is one of only 39 ZR1 Corvettes produced in Admiral Blue for the 2019 model year.
Equipped with the powerful supercharged 6.2L LT5 V-8 engine delivering an impressive 715 lb-ft of torque and a paddle-shift automatic transmission, this one-of-a-kind pace car is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 MPH in a staggering 2.85 seconds, with a top speed reaching 212 MPH.
