Listed for sale on Bring a Trailer, this 1964 Chevrolet Corvette coupe combines the iconic styling of Chevrolet’s second-generation Corvette with extensive modern performance upgrades. Introduced for 1963 after years of development under Zora Arkus-Duntov, the C2 Corvette represented a major advancement in both design and chassis engineering. Its distinctive styling, created by Larry Shinoda and Peter Brock, helped establish the C2 as one of the most collectible and customizable generations in Corvette history.
This example is a frame-off custom build completed by Jeff Hayes Customs of Bloomington, Indiana, reportedly in 2023. Since completion, the car has accumulated just 307 miles. Its black fiberglass body is mounted to a fabricated Art Morrison chassis and features a blue-striped stinger-style hood, flip-up headlights, side-exit exhaust, chrome bumperettes, and a power-operated hood.
Modernized underpinnings include Strange Engineering adjustable coilovers, tubular front control arms, sway bars, a rear torque arm, and power rack-and-pinion steering. Schott wheels measuring 18 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear are paired with blue-striped tires, while braking is provided by Wilwood six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers over drilled and slotted rotors.
The cockpit is finished in blue leather with contrasting white offset stitching across the dashboard, center stack, door panels, and bolstered seats. Equipment includes power windows, Vintage Air climate control, a Bluetooth-capable stereo, and an integrated backup camera. A Billet Specialties steering wheel is mounted to a chrome tilt column, while a carbon-fiber instrument cluster houses chrome-bezel AutoMeter gauges.
Power comes from a 6.2-liter LS3 “Hot Cam” crate V8, according to the seller. The engine is equipped with a Deepmotor intake manifold, Corvette-script coil covers, short-tube headers, and a polished accessory drive. A four-speed 4L70E automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels through a fabricated and reinforced solid rear axle equipped with a limited-slip differential.
With its C2 silhouette, extensively re-engineered chassis, modern LS3 powertrain, and low post-build mileage, this Corvette presents a distinctly contemporary interpretation of one of Chevrolet’s most celebrated designs.
