Underrated Corvettes Part 1: 1989-1991 C4 6-Speed Coupe

Old Corvettes tend to be the victims of newer Vettes because the cars just keep getting better and better. New Corvettes have always been expensive for their time. In the ’60s a $6,000 Corvette was outrageously expensive. Today, it’s easy to spend over $100,000 for a C8.

But you don’t have to spend cubic-inch dollars for a stout Corvette driver.  Over the next six installments, we will be looking at six unique segments of the Corvette market that, while these cars weren’t the top performers of their time, are still good performance value for a fun Vette.

No matter how old and outdated a Corvette happens to be, it’s still a “Vette!”. Even a smog-clogged mid-70s Vette can be a crowd favorite in a local parade. Why? Because it’s cool and it’s a “Vette!”.
