Listed for sale on Bring a Trailer, this 1962 Chevrolet Corvette takes the classic C1 roadster in a thoroughly modern direction, combining its iconic early-1960s silhouette with a supercharged LS2 V8, a Tremec six-speed manual transmission, and a purpose-built tubular chassis.
The defining feature of this restomod is its supercharged 6.0-liter LS2 V8, replacing the small-block configurations originally available for the 1962 Corvette. Although Chevrolet’s final-year C1 models were offered with 327-cubic-inch V8 engines, including a fuel-injected version rated at 360 horsepower, this example adopts a contemporary powertrain intended to deliver a substantially different driving experience. The engine features C1-style valve covers, relocated coil packs, and a SPAL cooling fan.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a Tremec six-speed manual transmission, providing a more contemporary spread of ratios while retaining driver involvement. The drivetrain is installed within an SRIII Motorsports tubular chassis, complemented by C4 Corvette-specification suspension components, coilover dampers, and four-wheel disc brakes.
Finished in metallic beige, the Corvette retains the unmistakable proportions of the original roadster while incorporating several custom body modifications. Shaved door handles with electric poppers, a filled cowl vent, and deleted windshield wipers create a cleaner exterior appearance. A removable hardtop finished in matching metallic beige completes the configuration.
The car rides on staggered 18-inch front and 20-inch rear Rocket Racing wheels fitted with Nexen tires bearing 2009 date codes. The seller also documents paint discoloration on the rear deck lid from contact with the hardtop’s rubber weatherstripping, along with a blemish on the right front fender.
Inside, beige upholstery complements low-profile bucket seats, a modified dashboard, and a custom center console. Classic Instruments gauges replace the original instrumentation, while push-button ignition and an aftermarket audio system with satellite radio and auxiliary connectivity introduce modern conveniences. The battery has been relocated behind the seats, with a remote disconnect and concealed activation switch also installed.
Refurbished and modified under previous ownership by Vintage Fabrication of Independence, Missouri, the Corvette is offered on dealer consignment with build documentation and a title. The six-digit mechanical odometer displays 800 miles, approximately 500 of which were reportedly added under current ownership.
