Barrett-Jackson Goes Digital
With Las Vegas marking Barrett-Jackson’s final big-tent event on the 2026 calendar, the auction house is now taking its show online for the first time ever—perhaps signaling its intent to join and compete in the increasingly important digital collector-car marketplace pioneered by platforms such as Bring a Trailer. Barrett-Jackson officially launched its “Digital Select Auctions” platform in September 2026 as a permanent addition to its live-auction calendar. While the company has offered online components and internet bidding for its physical events in the past, its November 5–12 event represents something entirely new: a standalone, online-only marketplace auction built around a dedicated timed-bidding format, complete with a live commentator closing out the action.
49 Corvettes Invade The Las Vegas Tent
Billed as “The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auction,” the Las Vegas Auction featured 593 collectible vehicles and generated nearly $35 million in no-reserve sales. So, how much of that collector-car spectacle belonged to America’s Sports Car? Just 49 Corvettes, representing 8.3% of the total vehicle count. On the surface, that percentage might seem modest, but the individual Corvettes were anything but ordinary—and an increasingly familiar trend once again dominated the tent. As you’ll see in our 2026 coverage recap below, Barrett-Jackson has consistently become a showcase for what the auction house calls “Customs,” better known around here as The Restomod Movement. And Las Vegas was no different.

The Consistent Six-Figure Restomod Movement
Of those 49 Corvettes, just 17 were Restomod/Custom builds, yet they accounted for 6 of the top 10 Corvette sales, including the top four highest-selling Corvettes of the auction. When Jeff Hayes first blazed the trail for this movement, we doubt he could have imagined just how dramatically his vision would spread—or how thoroughly this once-niche segment would eventually take over the big tents across our hobby. What was once considered the “bastardization” of classic Corvettes has evolved into a legitimate craft, seamlessly marrying the character and styling of classic Corvette generations with modern performance, suspension, braking, chassis, and drivetrain upgrades. And as the Las Vegas results make abundantly clear, these custom creations are no longer simply passion projects tucked away in private garages. They are now commanding well into six-figure territory, and judging by our top sale, one particular Corvette may very well make your heart skip a beat. #5 — 1967 Corvette Custom Convertible

“This custom 1967 Chevrolet Corvette restomod convertible is powered by a new 480hp 6.2-liter LS3 crate engine paired with a new Silversport Tremec five-speed manual transmission built for 600hp and a matching hydraulic clutch. An aluminum radiator provides engine cooling. The build was completed by Jamison Custom Corvettes in South Carolina and uses a Jamison tube chassis equipped with fully restored and rebuilt C5 suspension with independent rear suspension, power rack-and-pinion steering, QA1 adjustable coilovers at all four corners, front sway bar and polyurethane suspension bushings. A custom dual stainless-steel side-pipe exhaust is fitted with NOS GM covers.
Stopping is handled by restored and rebuilt C5 power disc brakes. The professionally prepared body is finished in black with a 427-badged red Stinger hood, 2.5-inch wider rear fenders, a black folding canvas soft-top in like-new condition and a fully restored removable black hardtop. New weatherstripping is installed throughout. Custom-made 18-inch wheels styled after the original style 15-inch knock-off wheels are mounted with 245/40×18 Michelin Pilot Sport performance tires. The bucket-seat interior features Al Knoch red leather upholstery, with gauges that retain a stock appearance and have been modified to operate with the LS3 computer. A Vintage Air system is also installed. The car has been driven 4,211 miles since build completion.”

#4 — 2013 Corvette Custom Split-Window Coupe

“This custom 2013 Chevrolet Corvette Split-Window Coupe is powered by an LS3 6.2-liter engine equipped with a Lingenfelter E-Force supercharger and intercooler, backed by a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. It is equipped with factory adjustable traction control and a bi-modal performance exhaust. Wilwood brakes provide stopping power. One of just 14 limited-edition models built by Classic Reflection Coachworks on a 2013 C6 Corvette 60th Anniversary chassis, it features an all-carbon-fiber body, inner fenders finished in silver gray, LED Vortex headlights and tinted windows. The custom interior is trimmed in red leather and includes heated power seats, air conditioning, power windows, navigation, satellite radio, CD player, a full-view rear-view camera mirror and a head-up display. Factory front and side airbags and FR crash protection are also included. It rides on Z06 black chrome wheels wrapped in Michelin run-flat 18/19 tires. 6,297 actual miles.”

#3 — 1967 Corvette Custom Convertible

“Silverback” is a show-quality 1967 Corvette convertible built by Anton’s Hot Rod Shop and completed in late 2024, blending unmistakable C2 styling with thoroughly modern hardware. Under the hood is a professionally built 416ci LS3 from Katech Engineering, based on an aluminum LS3 block and equipped with a Callies Dragon Slayer crankshaft, Ultra forged H-beam rods, Mahle DLC-coated pistons, CNC-ported GM LS3 cylinder heads and a hydraulic-roller camshaft. A fabricated 4-inch stainless cold-air system, stainless headers and dual exhaust help the LS3 breathe, while a DeWitts aluminum radiator with dual SPAL fans keeps temperatures in check. The engine sends its power through a Gearstar 4L65E four-speed automatic with a 2,600–2,800-rpm stall converter to a fifth-generation Camaro SS limited-slip rear end with IRS drive axles and 3.73 gears.
The performance foundation is equally serious, beginning with a Roadster Shop SPEC 7 chassis fitted with power rack-and-pinion steering, C7 Corvette independent front and rear suspension, C7 aluminum control arms, Fox billet coilovers and Baer 14-inch four-wheel disc brakes with six-piston calipers. The rear of the Corvette was mini-tubbed to make room for its massive Nitto 555 G2 tires, mounted on custom Forgeline HL3X three-piece forged wheels measuring 18×9.5 up front and 18×11.5 in the rear. Visually, Silver Pearl Metallic paint, a black Stinger hood, functional stainless-steel side vents, center exhaust outlets and a matching hardtop preserve the ’67’s heritage, while the Peanut Butter leather interior adds the finishing touch. The sale also included its Chevy Hub magazine feature, hardtop stand and cover, service documentation, and an October 17, 2025 Hephner Auto Appraisals appraisal for $500,000.”

#2 — 1963 Corvette Custom Split-Window Coupe

“Known as “Redline,” this show-quality 1963 Corvette Split-Window Coupe was handcrafted by Troy Lundquist Restorations and completed in 2022. One of just 10,594 Split-Window Coupes produced, its original GM body was rotisserie-restored with structural reinforcement at known C2 stress points before being finished in Firecracker Red. The build has already collected First Place and Top 10 at Autorama, along with Best Street Machine at ISCA, with the award documentation included in the sale. Beneath the period-inspired exterior sits a GM Performance 376ci LS3 rated at 525 horsepower, backed by a GM Performance 4L70E automatic transmission and Strange Ford 9-inch limited-slip rear end with 31-spline axles and 3.73 gears. A switch on the center console activates the transmission’s performance mode.
The performance upgrades continue underneath with a new Art Morrison chassis, power rack-and-pinion steering, tubular control arms, four-link rear suspension, Strange adjustable coilovers and Wilwood power four-wheel disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors. Four-inch rear mini-tubs make room for the massive Michelin Pilot Sport 4S red-line tires, wrapped around 18-inch front and 20-inch rear Schott Mach 5 wheels. Inside, Dale Hancock Upholstery combined saddle leather and black suede with modified original C2 seats designed to accommodate taller drivers, while Dakota Digital gauges, Vintage Air climate control and power windows add modern convenience without losing the car’s character. “This 1962 Corvette custom convertible is built around a 418ci LS3 stroker with a forged rotating assembly, 11:1 compression, Texas Speed & Performance Stage 2 naturally aspirated camshaft, titanium-retained dual valve springs, Yella Terra roller rockers and Harrop Hurricane individual throttle bodies. Holley Terminator X Max engine management and a professional tune control the combination, which exhales through Ultimate long-tube headers and a custom EFAB exhaust. Power reaches the pavement through a Tremec T56 Magnum six-speed close-ratio manual transmission, McLeod twin-disc RST clutch and a Strange Engineering Ford 9-inch rear with 3.70 gears and a Truetrac limited-slip differential. The drivetrain is backed by an Art Morrison GT Sport chassis featuring C7 Corvette front suspension, adjustable Strange coilovers and power rack-and-pinion steering.
Finished in PPG Black Mercedes 004, the C1 wears 1961-style cove trim, LED lighting, flush door handles and a matching hardtop, with four-inch-class rear rubber in the form of 325/30R19 Toyo Proxes R888R tires mounted on Forgeline GA1R Concave wheels. Braking is equally serious, with Brembo six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers clamping DBA two-piece slotted composite rotors. Inside, Rosso Red leather, Claret English Wilton carpet and Goya Red Alcantara complement Dakota Digital RTX gauges, Vintage Air Gen 5 climate control and power windows. The restoration began in October 2023 and was completed in March 2026, and the Corvette has covered just 200 miles since completion, making this a fresh, thoroughly engineered C1 restomod with a particularly compelling combination of a high-performance LS3, six-speed manual transmission and modern chassis technology.”

“This 1965 Chevrolet Corvette 327/375 Fuelie is powered by a matching-numbers L84 327/375hp fuel-injected engine paired with an M20 four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction rear axle. It is equipped with four-wheel disc brakes and special cast-aluminum knock-off wheels with new gold-line bias-ply tires. The freshly painted black exterior features Soft Ray tinted glass and the black interior features genuine leather seat trim with AM/FM radio. This Corvette received Bloomington Gold certification in the 1980s and was subsequently placed in long-term storage.
