1) Production Of The Revolutionary Eighth-Generation Corvette Surpasses 175,000 Units

As the Bowling Green Assembly Plant gears up to hit 200,000 Corvettes by the end of the 2025 model year, CorvSport takes a look at total C8 production to date. While you can see production started out slowly, the dedicated workers in Bowling Green really kicked things up in 2023, with a number that nearly beat the all-time record held by the 1979 C3.

2020: 20,368

2021: 26,216

2022: 25,831

2023: 53,785 (just 23 units short of beating the record set in 1979!)

2024: 42,934

2025: 6,964 (as of 11/06/2024)

TOTAL: 176,098

Here’s a breakdown of 2025 production, which began on September 9th of this year.

  • Stingray: 5,039
  • Z06: 1,545
  • E-Ray: 380
  • TOTAL: 6,964

2) Are Enthusiasts Hesitant To Adopt Corvette “Electrification?”

Despite a blistering 655 horsepower and an electric motor on the front wheels that turns the Corvette into an all-wheel-drive platform for the first time, the reception of the 2024 E-Ray has been lukewarm. As we look deeper into the numbers, there are many questions:

  1. Why has the community not warmed up to the E-Ray?
  2. Are “traditionalists” really that turned off by any electrification of the Corvette?
  3. Does this mean an all electric EV Corvette will be doomed from the beginning?
  4. Are the numbers simply off because 2024 E-Ray production was delayed for months?

2024 E-Ray Production Percentage

  • E-Ray Coupes: 599
  • E-Ray Convertibles: 818
  • Total 2024 E-Ray Production: 1,417
  • Percentage of total 2024 production (42,934): 3.3%

How Does This 3.3% Compare to 2025?

  • 2025 E-Ray production to date: 380
  • Percentage of 2025 production to date (6,964): 5.4%

Well, looking at this with half-glass full lenses, the 2% increase is in the right direction, but compared to the Z06, it’s still way below what a special Corvette variant should be bringing. In 2024, the C8 Z06 accounted for a whopping 24.6% of total production. Join CorvSport on Facebook, where our largest group of readers convene, to let us know what you think about these E-Ray production numbers!
