FOR SALE: 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split-Window Coupe

Equipped with a 5.7-liter LS1 V8

Introduced for 1963, the Corvette Sting Ray combined striking design with genuine performance, offered in both coupe and convertible forms. It is one of the most iconic creations from General Motors’ Bill Mitchell-led design studios, drawing heavy inspiration from Mitchell’s 1960 SCCA championship-winning Stingray race car.

Based on early concepts by Peter Brock and refined for production by Larry Shinoda, the car’s distinctive split-window rear—exclusive to the 1963 model year—has made the coupe especially desirable and valuable among collectors.

Second-generation Corvettes are also known for their adaptability, and this custom 1963 split-window coupe, currently listed on Bring a Trailer, exemplifies that versatility. This frame-off custom 1963 split-window Corvette has logged approximately 1,500 miles since its completion.

It delivers significantly more performance than stock, powered by a 5.7-liter LS1 V8 upgraded with an aftermarket camshaft, Wilson FAST intake manifold, TIPS throttle body, Airflow Research cylinder heads, headers, and an aluminum radiator. The engine is paired with a T56 six-speed manual transmission and a Dana 44 limited-slip differential sourced from a C4 Corvette.

Finished in silver, the car rides on a Jamison’s Custom Corvette tubular chassis equipped with C4-spec suspension, QA1 coilovers, and power rack-and-pinion steering. It sits on 17-inch American Racing five-spoke aluminum wheels, with stopping power provided by four-wheel disc brakes.

Inside, the cabin features two late C3-style bucket seats trimmed in two-tone gray leather, complemented by matching door panels and carpeting. Additional features include an aftermarket three-spoke steering wheel, Vintage Air air conditioning, a Kenwood head unit discreetly mounted in the glovebox, a four-disc CD changer behind the passenger seat, an analog clock, and lap belts.
