This custom 1965 Chevrolet Corvette coupe, currently offered for sale on Bring a Trailer, was commissioned by Slate Performance Automotive of Indianapolis in 2023, inspired by the C7 Corvette ZR1. Built on a Roadster Shop SPEC7-series chassis, the car features a 3-inch rear widebody, Penske Racing adjustable coilovers, Baer Extreme 14-inch brakes with six-piston calipers, and black-finished 19-inch front and 20-inch rear C7 ZR1 wheels wearing Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires.
The fiberglass body is finished in red and incorporates a stinger-style hood, shaved B-pillar vents, flush-mounted glass, tucked steel bumpers, LED lighting, and custom 3.5-inch side-exit exhaust pipes. Additional details include black-finished mirrors, handles, and trim.
Power comes from a supercharged 6.2-liter LT5 V8 installed in 2020, factory rated at 755 horsepower. Supporting equipment includes a dry sump oiling system, Wegner Motorsports billet accessories, stainless headers, aluminum cooling components, billet tanks, and AN fuel lines. A GM Performance 8L90E eight-speed automatic sends power to a Ford 9-inch rear end with a 3.73:1 ratio.
Inside, the cabin is fully retrimmed in black leather across the seats, dash, console, and panels. Amenities include remote start, power windows and locks, air conditioning, retractable seat belts, and a TAPshift shifter. Modern tech highlights consist of a GPS tracking/alarm system, LED cabin lighting, Classic Instruments gauges, a rearview mirror with integrated back-up camera display, and a Rockford Fosgate sound system paired with a factory-look stereo featuring Bluetooth connectivity.
