After tracking these automotive time capsules for years, we’re ready to answer this question: Which generation and variant has dominated our coverage, and who truly wears the crown?
The Garage Queen Hall Of Fame
Since that early 2024 debut, we’ve built a database featuring 109 Garage Queens, assembled by combing through thousands of listings over the course of nearly three years. Is this a scientific study? Hardly. But it’s a fascinating snapshot of a niche market that only CorvSport is tracking with this kind of consistency. Our mission has uncovered everything from modern performance monsters with barely enough miles to finish their break-in period to older classics that seem to have spent more time under a cover than on the open road. And now, we’re putting the generations head-to-head to determine which Corvettes are most likely to become garage-bound royalty.
The C7 Takes The Crown, But The ZR1 Rules The Castle
With 44 appearances out of 109, the C7 generation leads the pack at 40.4% of our entire Garage Queen database. That’s not just a win; it’s a commanding performance. The C7’s appeal spans several high-performance variants, but one machine stands above the rest: the 755-horsepower 2019 Corvette ZR1, which accounts for 22 appearances all by itself. That’s half of all the C7s we’ve featured! Add 15 C7 Z06s, six base models, and one special edition, and the picture becomes clear: when Corvette owners buy the ultimate front-engine, naturally aspirated-era swan song or its supercharged big brothers, some apparently prefer to keep the miles off the clock. The C7 is our overall Garage Queen King, and the 2019 ZR1 is its undisputed heavyweight champion.
From Crossed Flags To Collectible Time Capsules
The C7 may dominate, but the earlier generations have plenty of stories to tell. The C4 comes in second with 23 appearances, representing 21.1% of our database. Its 11 ZR-1s lead the way, while base models and special editions contribute six appearances apiece. The C6 follows with 16 cars, or 14.7%, including seven ZR1s, five Z06s, one base model, and three special editions. The C5 adds another 14 cars, accounting for 12.8% of our total, with seven special editions leading the way ahead of four base models and three Z06s. Meanwhile, the C8 and C3 generations each account for six appearances, or 5.5% apiece. Five of our C8s were base models, joined by one special edition, while the C3 contingent is entirely made up of 1978 Pace Cars. It’s a reminder that rarity, performance, and collectibility can take very different paths to the garage.
