Covering the wholesale world of America’s Sports Car for 66 episodes and bringing it to you has been a privilege—and we hope you’ve enjoyed the ride as much as we have! What makes these reports different is that you’re not just looking at auction results; you’re getting the perspective of our in-house retired dealer, a veteran with 17 years of experience who understands what happens between the auction lane and the dealer’s front line. He knows what makes a Corvette attractive to a dealer, what can make a unit difficult to retail, and, perhaps most importantly, what the numbers are really telling us before the rest of the market catches on. That dealer-level perspective gives CorvSport a unique window into the wholesale world, where today’s transactions can signal where tomorrow’s used Corvette market may be headed. After all, these are the ‘Vettes dealers are deciding to put their money behind right now—long before many of them ever hit a used-car lot and become the C8 you’re shopping for.

On Our Radar: Today’s Defining Wholesale Storylines

1. Testing Our Curated Top 7 That Have Rocked Five 100% Sell-Through Rates This Year

For today’s insights, we wanted to put the C8 Stingray market to the test—and that meant deliberately searching for examples that could challenge some of the assumptions surrounding today’s market. One of the more fascinating things we’ve noticed while scrolling through hundreds of C8s every month in search of our Curated Top 7 is just how difficult it can be to find higher-mileage eighth-generation Corvettes. Owners simply don’t seem to be putting many miles on these cars, making examples hovering around the 20,000-mile mark surprisingly uncommon. So, this time around, we intentionally went looking for them. Our Top 7 includes a 2022 with 21,501 miles and a 2023 with 20,006 miles, while the mileage spectrum swings all the way down to a 2023 3LT Coupe showing just 987 miles. The standout may be a 2025 1LT Convertible with 15,997 miles, high considering its age. And there’s another twist: four of our seven Corvettes are 2023 models, giving us an extra dose of insight into what that particular model year is doing when dealers get the chance to raise their hands.

2. The C8 Stingray Crash Narrative Meets The Wholesale Test

We’re also continuing to address the chatter you may be hearing across social media. With new LS6-equipped 2027 Corvettes entering the new-car market and discounted leftover 2026s still funneling through dealers, there are voices suggesting that the C8 Stingray market has already crashed—or is destined to crash. That makes the wholesale lanes an especially interesting place to test the narrative. If dealers keep raising their hands and buying used C8s for their lots, as our previous reports have indicated, the transactions deserve a closer look. Today’s Top 7 gives us some particularly useful ammunition for that test: we have those aforementioned higher-mileage C8s, plus a 2023 1LT Coupe with a 4.6/5.0 condition report and an accident on its record, along with three other Stingrays carrying condition reports of 4.6 or lower. Remarkably, it remains common to see even older C8s come through the lanes carrying perfect 5.0 condition reports, so these lower scores matter. In other words, we’re not cherry-picking only the easiest Corvettes to sell—we’re watching what happens when dealers are presented with a broader cross-section of the Stingray market.

3. The SuperSeller Who Is Always Hot

Our Curated Top 7 features five C8s from Texas Auto Value (TAV), and regular readers already know that TAV comes ready to wholesale. They understand the dealer-only game, and they aren’t buried in their units waiting for a dealer to pay what they believe their Corvette is worth. That distinction matters. TAV’s objective is to bring desirable inventory into the dealer-only lanes and give dealers the opportunity to fill their used-car lots with Corvettes they believe they can retail. Sure, those who originally sold their C8s may have taken a hit and received less than they thought their cars were worth—but that isn’t TAV’s concern. Their job is to move desirable inventory, and they repeatedly show they know how to do it. To keep today’s Top 7 from becoming an all-TAV affair, we also have two relatively unknown sellers bringing clean, seemingly front-line-ready C8s into the mix. These are the kinds of units that make it easy for whichever dealer raises their hand to envision the next step: buy it, clean it up, put it on the lot, and go sell a Corvette.

4. Is Dallas Cooling Off Or Still Heating Up?

On the surface, Dallas wholesale inventory levels are cooling off significantly. This week we had just 23 Corvettes offered, following 23 and 21 in the previous two reports. Compare that with the 40 and 46 Corvettes offered from late July into mid-August, and the change becomes impossible to ignore: inventory is now essentially half of what it was during those earlier weeks. But while the supply side has cooled, the dealers certainly haven’t disappeared. Since our expanded Dallas coverage began on 10/23/2025, we’ve tracked an overall 76.4% sell-through rate, a remarkable number that becomes even more compelling when you look at the most recent episodes, which produced sell-through rates of 82.5% and 90.5%. And this isn’t a conclusion built on a handful of cars. To date, we’ve tracked 774 Corvettes, with 591 going off to new dealers. So, will that momentum continue? That is where the bigger market picture comes into play. When new-car discounts start putting pressure on used values—and there are plenty of those discounts circulating right now—the wholesale lanes are often among the first places where that pressure becomes visible. The question, then, isn’t simply how many Corvettes sell today. It’s whether today’s dealers believe tomorrow’s used-retail market still has enough margin to make a living.

The Stage Is Set—Now Let’s See Where The Corvettes Go

So, now we’ve set the stage for some wholesale fun! First up is our Curated Top 7, where we’ll get an up-close look at the individual Corvettes dealers were willing to chase in today’s lanes. From there, we visit our expanded Dallas coverage to give you the big picture of what one of America’s largest wholesale Corvette markets has been doing since late 2025. Then we’ll break down every Corvette generation that has moved through Dallas during that same period, illustrating just how important the newer generations are in the wholesale world. Following that is Our Final Word, where we’ll put a bow on the entire package and pull the most important threads together. And, as always, we’ll finish with our complete archive of wholesale coverage, with active links if you want to take a journey back through the episodes and watch this market story unfold. Now, buckle up—the wholesale journey that is Episode 66 is ready to roll!

Top 7 Spotlight: Wholesale Dealer-Only Auction Activity Report

#7 — 2022 C8 Stingray Coupe 1LT

21,501 Miles

Condition Report: 4.8/5.0

AutoCheck History Report: 2 owners, 0 accidents

Announcements:

MMR Data:

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages:

Auction Results: NO SALE

(Dealer Insights: Despite the high wing and some other add-ons, newcomer Bring Your Own Bids failed to hammer this base Stingray. When this happens on a unit that looks good on paper and in the pictures, the sellers’ reserve is usually too high.)

#6 — 2023 C8 Stingray Coupe 3LT

20,006 Miles

Condition Report: 4.6/5.0

AutoCheck History Report: 3 owners, 0 accidents

Announcements:

MMR Data:

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages:

Auction Results: Sold for $61,750

(Dealer Insights: This unit illustrates the impact of “higher” miles on a C8 at the auction, with a $3,480 deduction for just 20k miles. With our first sale from TAV, this is where you can have some fun and compare the sale price to MMR and the historical average. As you can see, the wholesale price for this year and trim has remained steady over the last year, and this buyer got a bit of a deal at $950 under MMR.)

#5 — 2023 C8 Stingray Coupe 1LT

6,422 Miles

Condition Report: 4.6/5.0

AutoCheck History Report: 1 owner, 1 accident

Announcements: 1LT Package, 1-Owner

MMR Data:

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages:

Auction Results: NO SALE

(Dealer Insights: Considering how hot we were just two weeks ago, scoring a rare 100% sell-through, these opening no sales are a surprise, especially when it’s under TAV’s watch. This base Stingray, without even a  rear wing, just didn’t have enough to get over the finish line—that accident didn’t help its case.)

#4 — 2023 C8 Stingray Convertible 3LT

3,622 Miles

Condition Report: 5.0/5.0

AutoCheck History Report: 2 owners, 0 accidents

Announcements:

MMR Data:

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages:

Auction Results: Sold for $73,500

(Dealer Insights: TAV hammers this sharp-looking Vert nearly “right on the money,” proving that the right unit will always have dealers raising their hands. Again, look at those historical values over the last year. Today’s sales may be a bit soft, but that $3,200 decline is pretty respectable.)

#3 — 2023 C8 Stingray Coupe 3LT

987 Miles

Condition Report: 5.0/5.0

AutoCheck History Report: 1 owner, 0 accidents

Announcements:

MMR Data:

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages:

Auction Results: Sold for $72,000

(Dealer Insights: TAV shows us what happens when you bring the right unit to dealers ready to buy. This one looked great on paper and in the photos, and the sale price $1,400 over MMR reflects that. That rounds out our flurry of 2023 models, with a respectable three of the four hammering.)

#2 — 2024 C8 Stingray Coupe 2LT

9,536 Miles

Condition Report: 4.5/5.0

AutoCheck History Report: 1 owner, 0 accidents

Announcements:

MMR Data:

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages:

Auction Results: NO SALE

(Dealer Insights: I’m surprised TAV had this unit in their portfolio, as you really never know what is lurking under that wrap, which the announcements warned about. Plus, it’s not really an attractive color. And the 4.5/5.0 condition report certainly did not help its case.)

#1 — 2025 C8 Stingray Convertible 1LT

15,997 Miles

Condition Report: 4.6/5.0

AutoCheck History Report: 1 owner, 0 accidents

Announcements: None

MMR Data:

(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)

Historical Wholesale Averages:

Auction Results: NO SALE

(Dealer Insights: This no sale from Winter Motor Company just proves you better have something special when buyers are picky, and nearly 16,000 miles and a 4.6 CR is not it. Our industry “resell red” mantra did not hold true on this base Convertible.)

Our Final Word

Could this finally be the fall we’ve been hearing about?!? With a dismal 3 of our Curated Top 7 hammering and Dallas posting just a 60.9% success rate, we’ll say… maybe. That’s certainly a different signal than the 82.5% and 90.5% sell-through rates we recently witnessed, but one report is hardly enough to declare the arrival of a wholesale winter. That’s precisely why we bring you these reports every two weeks: the real story is found in the trend, not a single data point. So, will our first October report bounce right back, or are we watching the beginning of the “Fall fall”—the seasonal shift when our Northern Corvette enthusiasts begin putting their cars away for that long, cold winter season? For now, we’ll leave that question hanging over the lanes.

TAV still came ready to sell, with 3 of its 5 C8s finding new homes, while our two newcomers helped drag the Top 7’s overall results lower. Before we see you again, though, take a moment to look at our generation tracker. Doesn’t that breakdown really drive home just how important the newer generations have become in the wholesale arena? It’s a fascinating contrast to the big-tent heavy hitters like Mecum and Barrett-Jackson, where the sales mix between newer and older Corvettes is essentially flipped. Dallas sent us a signal today—but whether it was a temporary stumble or the first hint of something bigger remains to be seen. Tune in for Episode 67, when we’ll find out whether today was simply an anomaly… or the opening chapter of what comes next.
