On paper, the comparison presents an intriguing contrast. The Z06’s naturally aspirated 5.5-liter LT6 V8 produces 670 horsepower and revs to an astonishing 8,600 rpm, but delivers 460 lb-ft of torque. In comparison, the Grand Sport’s larger-displacement V8 sacrifices 135 horsepower yet generates 520 lb-ft of torque, creating the expectation of stronger low-end acceleration during everyday driving.
The road test quickly highlighted the distinct personalities of the two powertrains.
