As the chatter and excitement over the C8 ZR1 and ZR1X fill social media, and with the arrival of fresh 2026 models coming soon, how has this affected used C8 Stingray sales? There are many retail areas to analyze, but no other Corvette publication dives into actual dealer-to-dealer wholesale transactions like CorvSport does. Let’s not forget that wholesale auction activity is a great indicator of the health of the used C8 retail market. I know I wasn’t buying if the metal on my used car lot was collecting dust. As with all our exclusive market features, this wholesale market report is FREE and not behind a paywall. If/when any pop-ups appear, please click to dismiss them and continue enjoying the article.
Today’s bi-monthly report is another special C8 Stingray edition, and we continue with our Florida Redemption Tour. The first 16 installments focused solely on Florida, but they yielded a somewhat disappointing 30% sales success rate. We wanted to turn the heat up and move to the Texas market, and from October 2024 to June 2025, the Lone Star State sold 69% of the Corvettes we featured. Now it is time for Florida to redeem itself, but the first three weeks have been rough. How many will sell today?
If this is your first time with us, I developed these exclusive wholesale market reports 71 weeks ago to provide enthusiasts and shoppers with insights into the used C8 market. If you want to check out interesting wholesale trends, especially as we transitioned from the Florida to the Texas market and now back to Florida, you can see all our dealer-to-dealer transaction archives below today’s results.
A Quick Review Of The Process:
In preparation for each installment, I start a list of Corvettes from that week’s runlist that catch my eye. As a retired owner/operator of a used car dealership, I’ll use my 17 years of experience (and industry access) to give you insights into the market. My search is focused on the nation’s largest dealer-only wholesale auction, and all the Corvettes featured are from the Texas or Florida market. Corvettes end up at a dealer-only wholesale auction for many reasons, but most are trade-ins that the dealer decided not to retail on their lot. Some may also be repossessions or coming off leases. It’s also common for dealers to dump problem (or slow-selling) units at an auction.
For Fun (and Insights):
Compare the MMR (estimated wholesale value) to the actual hammer price (if sold). It’s also interesting to compare the wholesale purchase price (if it sells) to the Cox Automotive estimated retail value, as this will give you an idea of the margins used-car dealerships are working with.

#5
2022 C8 Stingray Coupe 2LT
10,531 Miles
Condition Report: 4.2/5.0
Announcements: 3rd Party Seller, Stingray
Autocheck History Report: 2 owners, 0 accidents
MMR: $64,700
(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)
Historical Wholesale Averages
- Past 30 Days: $63,900 (17,310 average miles)

- Last Year: $63,800 (13,000 mi)
Estimated Retail Value: $68,900
(Based on Cox Automotive retail transactions)
Auction Results: Sold for $65,500
(Insights: Aside from Torch Red, this is my favorite C8 color, and she looked good on paper, too. The buying dealer paid a bit above MMR, most likely due to a bidding war.)
#4
2023 C8 Stingray Coupe 1LT
10,295 Miles
Condition Report: 4.4/5.0
Announcements:
Autocheck History Report: 2 owners, 1 accident
MMR: $60,700
(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)
Historical Wholesale Averages
- Past 30 Days: $62,100 (9,663 average miles)
- 6 Months Ago: $60,600 (10,342 mi)
- Last Year: $61,500 (10,047 mi)
Estimated Retail Value: $63,400
(Based on Cox Automotive retail transactions)
Auction Results: Sold for $61,000
(Insights: Whoa, Florida is on fire so far today, and this sale surprises me a bit. With a 4.4 condition report and accident on the history report, I would have expected a no-sale, or, at the very least, a sale price below MMR.)
#3

13,779 Miles
Condition Report: 4.8/5.0

Estimated Retail Value: $71,000
(Based on Cox Automotive retail transactions)
Auction Results: Sold for $68,200
(Insights: Let’s go Florida! A beautiful C8 that was purchased right on the money.)
#2
2024 C8 Stingray Coupe 2LT
10,407 Miles
Condition Report: 3.9/5.0
Announcements: None
Autocheck History Report: 1 owner, 0 accidents
MMR: $66,800
(MMR=estimated wholesale value, based on vehicle, miles, condition, and recent auction sales)
Historical Wholesale Averages
- Past 30 Days: $69,500 (5,890 average miles)

- Last Year: $70,800 (2,054 mi)
Estimated Retail Value: $69,700
(Based on Cox Automotive retail transactions)
Auction Results: NO SALE
(Insights: With a 3.9 condition report, this no-sale isn’t a surprise. Most C8s, especially newer 2024s, are usually close to 5.0.)

Summary: With 5 out of our 7 Stingrays selling, maybe Florida can redeem itself, after all. You’ll note in the comprehensive archives below that Florida only sold 14% last report, so this is a step in the right direction. We’ve been tracking a high-volume Corvette seller, BD Auto Liquidators, and they moved a respectable four out of five units this week (versus only 25% last report). We’ll give Florida a few more weeks at redemption, then head back to Texas, where the real fun is. Thanks for joining CorvSport today, and we’ll see you in two weeks!
