The first hybrid and the first all-wheel-drive Corvette, revealed on the car’s seventieth birthday: the 495-horsepower LT2 behind the seats and a 160-horsepower, 125-lb-ft electric motor on the front axle, fed by a 1.9-kWh battery in the tunnel, for 655 horsepower, 2.5 seconds to 60 and a 10.5-second quarter, in the Z06’s wide body with its brakes, Magnetic Ride standard, a Stealth mode for a few electric miles and the ZER performance package. From $106,595 in 2024 to $110,595 in 2026, and the shortest-lived Corvette variant: 1,417, 3,153 and about 1,177 built before the 2027 Grand Sport X took its place. In October 2026 Classic.com’s E-Ray benchmark was $98,131, under sticker, with 3LZ cars selling for $83,500 to $103,000.

2024 Corvette E-Ray
Chevrolet gave the Corvette a hybrid for its seventieth birthday. Revealed on January 17, 2023 — seventy years after the 1953 car’s Motorama debut — the E-Ray was the first hybrid and the first all-wheel-drive Corvette, and it was built for speed rather than economy: the Stingray’s 495-horsepower LT2 and eight-speed dual-clutch drive the rear wheels, a 160-horsepower, 125-lb-ft permanent-magnet motor over the front axle drives the fronts, and a 1.9-kWh lithium-ion battery in the tunnel between the seats, charged by the engine and by regenerative braking with no plug, feeds it. Together they make 655 horsepower and, by GM’s figures, 2.5 seconds to 60 mph, 10.5 seconds at 130 in the quarter and 1.1 g — a tenth quicker than the Z06 in a straight line — from a 3,774-pound coupe (3,856 convertible) in the Z06’s 3.6-inch-wider body on its 20 x 10 and 21 x 13-inch wheels, with 15.7 and 15.4-inch carbon-ceramic Brembos and FE5 Magnetic Ride 4.0 standard and Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 ZP tires, the first all-seasons on a Corvette; the $500 ZER package brought Pilot Sport 4S summer tires and the FED suspension, and the carbon aero, carbon-fiber wheels and an Electric Blue stripe were options.
Stealth Mode drives on the motor alone to 45 mph until the battery is spent, Charge+ fills it for a track session, and an E-Ray Performance App on the screen shows the two power sources at work. It was announced at $104,295 for a 1LZ coupe, confirmed at $104,495 in July 2023 and raised to $106,595 ($113,595 convertible) on October 2 before the first car was built; production began on the night of December 11, 2023, two months behind schedule, ran a handful a day through the winter, and reached 1,417 in the model year — 599 coupes and 818 convertibles, 977 of them 3LZs, 874 with ZER, 33 right-hand drive. VIN 001 brought $1.1 million for DonorsChoose from Rick Hendrick at Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach in April 2023, and an Arctic White 3LZ coupe paced the Indianapolis 500 on May 26, 2024.
The E-Ray has depreciated faster than the Z06 — Classic.com’s benchmark was $98,131 in October 2026 — which makes it the quickest Corvette per dollar there has been.

2025 Corvette E-Ray
The E-Ray’s second year was the one production caught up with demand: 3,153 cars in eleven months against 1,417 in its launch year — 1,374 coupes and 1,779 convertibles, the convertible still ahead at 56 percent, 1,079 with the $500 ZER package (34 percent, down from 62 as the all-season tires found their buyers), 1,718 of them 3LZs. The car was unchanged: the Stingray’s 495-horsepower LT2 driving the rears, the 160-horsepower motor over the front axle, the 1.9-kWh battery in the tunnel, 655 horsepower, 2.5 seconds to 60 mph, the Z06’s wide body, carbon-ceramic brakes and FE5 Magnetic Ride, Stealth Mode to 45 mph and Michelin’s all-season Pilot Sport All Season 4 ZP. It took the three new colors (Arctic White led the E-Ray at 523, Red Mist second at 411, Riptide Blue 334) and the new Jet Black interior with blue stitching (122), gained the gloss-black wheel as its most popular finish (SON, 1,652), and went up $2,000: $108,595 for a 1LZ coupe, $114,095 and $119,545 for the 2LZ and 3LZ, $115,595 to $126,545 for the convertible.
Europe took 77 of its 107 Corvettes as E-Rays — the hybrid is the C8 that sells there — and 37 were right-hand drive. The E-Ray’s market is the softest of the four: Classic.com’s benchmark is $103,962 across 2024–26, a 505-mile 2025 3LZ sold for $104,000 in December 2025, and dealers ask $99,000 to $129,000 — which makes a used E-Ray the quickest Corvette per dollar there has been.

2026 Corvette E-Ray
The E-Ray’s third year was its smallest: about 1,177 built by the unofficial VIN count, against 3,153 in 2025 and 1,417 in its launch year, as the ZR1X — the same electric front axle under 1,064 horsepower instead of 495 — took the buyers who wanted the fastest Corvette and the ZR1 took the ones who wanted the loudest. The car was unchanged mechanically: the Stingray’s 495-horsepower LT2 driving the rears, the 160-horsepower motor and 1.9-kWh battery driving the fronts, 655 horsepower, 2.5 seconds to 60 mph, the Z06’s wide body, carbon-ceramic brakes and Magnetic Ride, Stealth Mode and the all-season tires; it took the new interior with the carbon display hood optional, the new colors and colorways, blue calipers, the asymmetrical stripes, and $2,000 more on the price — $110,595, $116,095 and $121,545 for the 1LZ, 2LZ and 3LZ coupe and $117,595 to $128,545 for the convertible, including $1,995 destination — with the $500 ZER package, the $3,995 visible-carbon ground effects and the $15,500 STZ carbon wheels its particular options. It is also the Corvette that sells abroad: 77 of the 107 Corvettes Europe took in 2025 were E-Rays, Top Gear drove a right-hand-drive 2026 in Britain, and the 2026 E-Ray in-depth guide on this site, written in August 2026, is the fullest account of the car.
The E-Ray’s market is the softest of the five — its 2026 trades near its sticker and the earlier cars under $105,000 — and the 2026, the rarest E-Ray, is the one with a premium ahead of it.

The C8 Corvette E-Ray Buyer’s Guide
The E-Ray is the hybrid, all-wheel-drive Corvette: the Stingray’s LT2 plus a 160-hp front motor for 655 hp, the Z06’s wide body, carbon-ceramic brakes and Magnetic Ride standard, and all-season tires from the factory. It never had a markup year, it was built for three model years, and it has depreciated faster than any other C8 — which is why the site called it the value in the range in 2026.
Buy on the battery and the brakes: the 1.9-kWh pack is warranted separately, the carbon-ceramic rotors are standard and expensive, and the all-season tires are the thing most owners change first. The 2024 first-year car is the one with the most on the market; the 2026 has the new interior and the fewest built.
Which C8 Corvette E-Ray to Buy
Every model year of the C8 Corvette E-Ray with the verdict a buyer needs: what the year brought, which are collected and which are the value.
| YEAR | BUILT | NEW | POWER | THE VERDICT |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2024 | 1,417 | Stingray $69,995 coupe 1LT | 655 hp | First year and the most built; the cheapest E-Ray and the one the site tracks as the value. |
| 2025 | 3,153 | Stingray $69,995 coupe 1LT | 655 hp | The same car with the first-year items behind it. |
| 2026 | 1,177 | Stingray $71,995 coupe 1LT | 655 hp | The last year (about 1,177 built) and the new interior; the collector pick if there is one. |

|---|---|---|---|
| 2024 | 1,417 | Stingray $69,995 coupe 1LT | The E-Ray never had a markup year at all and has fallen faster than either of the others, which is where the value is. Classic.com files the E-Ray under /c8/e-ray/ with a benchmark of $98,131 in October 2026 across 2024–2026 and the same figure on its 2024 page (36 listings): Bring a Trailer sold a 9,000-mile 3LZ for $103,000 in August 2026 and a modified 15,000-mile 3LZ for $89,000 in October 2026, Cars & Bids passed a 2025 at $92,000 the same week, and dealers ask $91,550 to $120,000 for 2024s with 200 to 19,000 miles — most between $95,000 and $110,000 against the $106,595–$124,545 they cost new, and the cheapest 2024 the site has recorded sold for $83,500. |
| 2025 | 3,153 | Stingray $69,995 coupe 1LT | The 2025 E-Ray (/c8/e-ray/year-2025/, 14 listings, benchmark $103,962 for 2024–26) sold once at $104,000 (a 505-mile 3LZ, December 2025), failed to sell at $125,000 for an 8-mile convertible at Mecum Glendale in March 2025, and asks $98,995 to $129,000 at dealers — the $108,595–$126,545 stickers minus a few thousand. |
| 2026 | 1,177 | Stingray $71,995 coupe 1LT | The Stingray, E-Ray and Z06 are used Corvettes with the new interior as their premium: a 2026 Stingray trades a few thousand dollars over a 2025 at the same mileage, the Z06 (benchmark $134,263 across the C8 Z06 market) at or a little under its $119,695–$140,245 sticker, and the E-Ray — the fewest built of any year, about 1,177 — at its $110,595–$128,545 sticker or a little under, with the 2026 E-Ray guide on this site the place to start. |
The C8 Corvette E-Ray Inspection List
What to check on a C8 Corvette E-Ray before the money changes hands, from the year pages, with each year adding what is new.
2024: For a 2024 the questions are the E-Ray’s: the battery and the front drive unit are covered by the eight-year hybrid warranty and have no service history to speak of yet, Stealth Mode and the all-season tires are the things to try on a test drive, and the ZER package (874 of 1,417) is worth finding for the summer tires. Look for the Artemis interior (210 cars across all three) and the Tech Bronze package as the rarities.
2026: For a 2026 the questions are the new ones: the three-screen interior’s software (Google built-in.

What Goes Wrong: The C8 Corvette E-Ray’s Known Issues
The faults a C8 Corvette E-Ray is known for, the years they affect, what they look like and what the fix is. None of them should stop a purchase; all of them should be on the checklist, and a car with the paperwork for them is the one to buy.
| ISSUE | YEARS | WHAT HAPPENS | THE FIX |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hybrid battery and 12-volt | 2024–26 | The pack is new to Corvette; the 12-volt battery drains on cars that sit and the hybrid system reports faults when it does. | A tender; ask for the hybrid warranty terms (longer than the car’s) and any battery service. |
| Carbon-ceramic rotors | 2024–26 | Standard, and expensive to replace. | Have them weighed. |
| Dual-clutch transmission | 2024–26 | The C8 items. | Drive it in traffic; check for the reflash. |
| All-season tires | 2024–26 | The factory Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4s are the compromise reviewers complained about. | Many cars wear PS4S or Cup 2s now; check what is fitted and that the sizes match the staggered fitment. |
| Front-motor cooling and the Stealth mode | 2024–26 | Owners report warnings when the pack is depleted after hard use; Charge+ mode manages it. | Make sure the owner understands the modes; a car that has lived in Stealth mode is no worse for it. |
| Paint, dash, wheels | 2024–26 | The C8 cosmetic items and curb-rashed wheels. | Inspect in daylight. |
The C8 Corvette E-Ray Options and Editions That Matter
What moves the price of a C8 Corvette E-Ray beyond mileage and condition: the packages, the equipment groups and the special editions, and what each does to the value.
MORE: THE SPECIAL EDITIONS / MSRP BY YEAR
| OPTION OR EDITION | WHY IT MATTERS | WHAT IT DOES TO THE PRICE |
|---|---|---|
| 3LZ equipment group | The full interior; most E-Rays have it. | Expected. |
| Performance Package (ZER) | The carbon aero and the stripe packages. | A small premium. |
| Carbon-fiber wheels | Offered on the E-Ray. | A premium only if undamaged. |
| Convertible | Offered from the start. | Level with the coupe. |
| Window sticker | E-Rays listed from about $106,000 to over $130,000 with options. | Used prices sit well under; know the original number. |
What a C8 Corvette E-Ray Costs to Own
An E-Ray costs a little more than a Stingray to run and less than a Z06: the LT2’s dry sump and the dual-clutch service are shared, the all-season tires last, the carbon-ceramic rotors are the expensive item and the hybrid system has its own warranty. There is no plug and no charging to arrange.
Insurance is ordinary; the depreciation makes an agreed-value policy less important than on the other models.

No. The 1.9-kWh battery between the seats is charged by the engine and by regeneration; the front motor adds its 160 horsepower when the car accelerates and lets the E-Ray creep up to 45 mph on electricity alone in Stealth mode for a few miles.
How is the E-Ray different from the Z06?
The E-Ray uses the Stingray’s 6.2-liter LT2, not the Z06’s flat-plane LT6, and adds the front motor and all-wheel drive; it is heavier (about 3,856 pounds), quicker to 60 (2.5 against 2.6 seconds) and slower at the top (183 mph), with the Z06’s wide body and brakes. It is the Corvette for wet roads and winters.
Why did GM pick the E-Ray name?
A nod to the Sting Ray and to the electrification; the car was revealed on January 17, 2023, the seventieth anniversary of the Corvette’s Motorama debut.
Is the E-Ray a good buy used?
In 2026 it is the cheapest way into a 655-hp, all-wheel-drive Corvette by a distance: it has lost more than any other C8 since new, with 2024 cars trading well under their stickers while the Z06 holds at list. The site’s market piece on the E-Ray covers the fall.
Why was the E-Ray discontinued?
It ran three model years, 2024–26, and the 2027 Grand Sport X took its place as the all-wheel-drive hybrid in the range. The short run is the collector argument for the 2026.
What should I check on an E-Ray?
The hybrid and 12-volt batteries, the carbon-ceramic rotors by weight, the dual-clutch’s updates, the tires fitted, and the usual C8 paint and dash items.
