ImportRace on YouTube captured yet another awesome showdown between two iconic American sports cars: a C8 Corvette and a Dodge Viper.
The stock C8 is already a strong performer with 495 horsepower coming from its 6.2L V8 engine. However, this particular example boasts some serious upgrades—likely a twin-turbo or supercharger setup—the Corvette produces 900 horsepower. At this level, it can run quarter miles in the low 9-second or even high 8-second range. Its mid-engine layout and boosted power make it a weapon in straight-line racing.
n the other side is the Viper, representing raw, naturally aspirated performance. Powered by an 8.4L V10, the ACR and TA 2.0 variants deliver around 645–650 horsepower. While not boosted, the Viper is famed for its massive torque curve and relentless pull on the top end. Factory stock, it’s good for mid-11-second quarter miles, and its brutal character has earned it a fearsome reputation.
Both of these cars faced off at the Maple Grove Raceway in a rolling race at 65 mph. Now the question becomes: can the boosted C8 put its power down cleanly, or will the Viper’s V10 torque and legendary top-end charge hold it off? Watch the video to find out!
